I hadn't heard of Aldrine until today, Dec. 30 2009. I was searching through ukulele lessons for a friend when I came accross this amazing musician.

I've played guitar since 1959 and music remains a huge part of my life. I hope that this brilliant young man will find a way to stay with his music too.

Aldrine's gifts are three fold in that he is a wonderful player, an astonishing vocalist and the cherry on top is the radiance of his personality.

From Aldrine's newest fan,

My family and I were fortunate enough to catch Aldrine play at the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort in Kaua'i in early September, 2009. He was brilliant! We were visiting from Los Angeles on vacation and were lucky enough to meet Gil at Scotty's Music Store. Gil turned us on to Aldrine. Aldrine seemed in great spirits and played a fast and energetic set. We have just heard that he will be teaching a class at the Southern California Ukulele Festival on October 3. Our son is learning the uke and will definitely take the class. Aldrine is so talented; not only a great ukulele player, but also a beautiful singer and a great guy, too. Seeing him play was the highlight of our vacation.

Aldrine has influenced my life in so many ways. Besides having virtually taught me what I know on the ukulele, his energy and love just beams through cyberspace. I know what it is like being an artist having been a bass player for so long and now on to ukulele. Being so passionate is always a rocky road.
Just realize that in this country we are not allowed to grieve we must always supposedly be happy. However grief is just as strong and valid as love. You do not have to give up anything because you are having a rough time. Let us help you share the grief honor it and allow yourself to feel this way but continue on the journey. It is a natural part of life. Remember we would all be lost without your love and music so just be present with yourself and know you have a huge community out here that loves every part of you.

Whatever tough times he's going through, I hope he makes it through them, as for his music, whatever decision he makes, we should be supportive of, and if it happens that he does quit music, I would personally like to thank him for all that he's given the ukulele community. It was his videos and lessons that tought me how to play the ukulele and I will always be grateful.

Thank You Aldrine

Thanks, Nelson.

I hope he manages to get through it and I hope he has people over there for him (I'm sure he does). I'm still worried about him.

Oh no...no no no no!
I really hope he isn't quitting for good!
I have no idea what's going on in his life but I really hope he doesn't quit the ukulele...

I mean, in my hard times the ukulele has always been a beacon of hope for me!
It's uplifted my spirits! (I'm going through very hard times myself)
I don't know what I would do to know that someone out there that plays the uke had to give it up...ESPECIALLY Mr. Guerrero!
