Not sure if it was mentioned but if not, it is definitely worth mentioning to those that are trying to play this as Brudda Iz played it that his Martin tenor had a low G string. A great video on YouTube suggests that he damped the strings after X-DU part of the strum to get that stoccata feel.

As much as I enjoyed this guy’s rendition – as I do any rendition – it hardly comes close to how beautiful Iz made it sound.

While the above vid doesn’t appear to work anymore, I looked this up on youtube because I had to see if it even compared. I gota say I’m not a fan of Jason Castro’s take on it.

Anyways, new to the uke. Already bought IZ’s book. Should get it in the mail tomorrow! ;)
