I have two fiddle stands for my ukes-- one is an Ingles SA 20, the other says "CMC" on the barrel. Both were priced fairly at well under $30 US.

Of the two, the Ingles is slightly more sturdy-- I use the extendable bow holder to hold my strap and/or a lei. The CMC stand has the advantage of extreme portability.

I've seen the Kala uke stand and it more than fills the bill, too.

Here's one US source: http://www.ukuleleworld.com/home.php?cat=64

Isaac: Show us your boobs.

Chris: Sounds like a great idea to me.

Carol: That's a good idea. I'll have a look at the violin stands.

Rob: Thanks. Good to be back.

zym: Looks pretty good. I'm quite tempted to get one for my guitars. If there was a uke one - I'd buy it. Did you get the HMHB tabs I sent you?

Ive been looking for a decent way to store my ukes. I dont really want to do it, but i might have to make some little pegs out of wooden dowel and attach them to the wall.
I quite like your idea Chris - a ukulele 'mug-tree'!

I found a metal violin stand at a local music store: it is perfect for the uke, very sturdy, and has a bar to keep the neck locked onto the stand so it can't fall out. Relatively inexpensive too.

Wow 335.00 for one stand. I own three ukes (vintage martin, flea, koaloha concert) and 3 of those stands would average out to about as much as i paid for the ukes themselves. I've been wondering recently about some sort of coat rack style uke holder. like one post and then hook things circling it going up. not sure i'm explaining myself well but it would be something like:

...\|
....|/
...\|
__|__
(\ and / are the holder things)

You can tell from the very technical sketches above that i'm far along with this idea. But it seems like a good way to hold lots of ukes in a small area. As long as it had a heavy base so there'd be no chance of tipping over. Would that ever work or am i crazy?
