James: Definitely. Just a shame about the price tag.

Zakulele: Thanks, that's a good shout. But I don't think even domras have that strange fret layout.

I guessing based on the writing on the inside and the appearance, that weird instrument appears to be a 4-string Domra, a Ukrainian/Russian instrument related to the balalaika, tuned GDAE, but it's just a guess.

Jodi:

1. I'm definitely happy with mine.
2. Apparently, the material the back is made of has very little impact on the sound.
3. But we can still dream.
4. That doesn't stop me wanting it.
5. I really like the sound of Tahitian ukes. Whatever the reason, it's fine by me.
6. I can't personally. I've heard good things about the Headrush. I'm sure <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/krabbers" rel="nofollow">krabbers</a> would be happy to share his thoughts.
7. Particularly after the rough time he must have had at school.

Beth: This is it, I'm back. Emails should commence tomorrow.

1. A friend of mine has your Ohana and I really like it: it sounds so bright and happy.
2. What is the point of the plastic back/spruce top?
3. I guarantee there are at least 3 collectors watching that auction
4. Normally I'm into ukulele oddities, but I'm with you. What the hell IS that thing?
5. Why is the sound hole on the back?
6. A $150 sticker? You know, sometimes it's just really depressing that there are people in this world that happily buy that stuff and others that can't afford their prescriptions (me, at least until my new job starts) and others who can't even afford to eat. Ok, I'm over it. Let's shop some more! Can you recommend a loop pedal?
7. I'm so glad Ukulele Dick got some love!
