I bought that Tangi sopranino. It arrived today up here in the mountains. It’s really cute, and has a surprisingly loud sound for such a little axe. Supposedly it has a cosmetic blemish or two, but there’s nothing I noticed that stood out worse than what I’d do with it in a few months of uke shredding. The high tuning (cfad) gives a sound that could alternately be described as sweet (by me) or piercing (by my wonderful and understanding wife.) I don’t suppose I’ll perform much with it — the range overlaps the mandolin, and besides, I’ve got these big fat fingers — but it’s good for at least a giggle or two.
