Waaw. Just waaw. Sorry, I'm a fan.

By the way, he's playing around with the idea of a cd with Romanian gypsies, I read somewhere. Talk about crazy rythms and minor chords...

Now we only need ukulelist-cartoonist-klezmorim Joann Sfar to do the sleeve... Hey, there's another interviewee!

Bob: Spot on impression of Tiny Tim, though.

todd: He's always great live. There's always something interesting going on.

cbf: Same here. Even if I never get that good, at least I'll get better.

Nina: I love that DVD. And it's a great bonus when Led Kaapana shows up.

Wonderful interview, thank you so much. Bob has been a big influence to me since I first learned about him in the mid-1990s. He is generous with his knowledge and has an amazing intellectual curiousity for music that is so inspiring and contagious.

I strongly recommend his instructional DVD for the ukulele and I'd give my eye teeth to attend the seminar. Wish I wasn't all the way across the country!

ah, it was 1995/96ish and i lived in a desert portion of Arizona more barren and hot than the phoenix valley in which i currently reside....

i had a gig slot with a partner at the local community college in "Bullhead City" Arizona (what kind of name is that?). we were to open for a guy named Bob Brozman.......

so we did our folk set complete with guitars, mandolin, a little dobro, etc. and after the set, Bob comes up, gives us some encouraging words and launched into a snarling set with his resonator arsenal and instruments i can't even remember....slide licks, percussive techniques, crazy vocal fluctuations, parts were beautiful other parts sounded like amped up cartoon music....it was truly a wild experience......

would love to see him live again someday....

cheers,

Thanks for getting this up so quickly! Just want to add, that video is from....1986, so I was somewhat inexperienced back then, 23 years ago! And nowadays, I am no longer such a smart-aleck kid.
