Trefor Jones, of The Fancy Dress Party (aptly described by film-maker Rob Brandon on Vimeo as “a beautiful folk band”),
Allison Pierce, & the player for Dithyrambe all use picks (merely an observation).

Craig, of course, doesn’t, & I would love to hear the French
duo cover Mr. Robertson. And wouldn’t the Dithyrambe look
jazz-up Ukulele Noir.

The Fancy Dress Party’s English folk idyll approach brings makes
me think of the pastoral music of Ralph Vaughan Williams, & I’m curious as to just how the English rate him today (I love him).

i’m disappointed to say that when i read ukehunt aloud it comes out lacking any resemblance to said joke because of my silly accent,

I have always, and still do, think the name is the absolutely finest name for a ukulele site that exists, and I only wish I’d thought of it.

You can always stretch it out to Ukulele Hunt if you don’t wish to offend (but we’ll all still know).

When I recommend this site to friends of mine, I often say something about the short form of the name. It would bother some of them if they saw it without warning. For what it’s worth, I don’t think it has kept any of them away.
