Many in the film, of course, claim that uke players are a bit off (& by their personas, tend to prove the point), but being a bit off hardly makes one an ahole, quite the opposite, in fact. Ask rather why the ukulele attracts so many interesting, non-conforming, creative, think-for-themselves types. It is the thinking man's violin, after all. It's been quite a while since I was 5, but I am seriously drawn to the Maccaferri-style Selmer uke mentioned above, & unashamedly so. Would have loved to have seen/heard Django having a go at it.
