I have seen and heard the stradele in the flesh thanks to a workshop that Rob MacKillop gave to the Monday Ukearist and I confirm that it truly is a wonderful instrument to both play and look at. Really is something quite special.

WIUO: I've been messing with effects and ukuleles as well. I haven't found a way to make it sound musical yet, though.

Hey Al,
We borrowed an EleUke for our last recording session, then didn't know what to do with it beyond mucking around on it with headphones on... So we just kinda left it in the corner...
Later on, alt-country legend Howe Gelb stopped (we were recording in Neil Finn's studio which is pretty flash. Touring artists like to visit it.). He brought his magic blue pedal with him and an hour later we'd laid down a version of Lou Reed's 'Walk on the Wild Side' with Howe's wiggy EleUke solo replacing the sax solo. That's the story behind the track on our MySpace profile.

cbf: If the Tululele is good enough for Eddie Vedder it's good enough for me.

being a big tele fan as well as owning the mahalo tele uke, i'm really impressed with the earnest tululele it looks seriously well put together (unlike the mahalo).
the jupiter creek looks like a lot of fun, not sure how uke-y it would sound and play but it looks so cute.

Jodi and Craig: The Sputniks do look great. But I really like the look of his stradeleles.

Nick: They definitely can sound like an electric guitar.

andy: You're welcome!

Being a Yorkshireman living abroad (proper abroad; the USA), I've not heard "flummoxed" for a while now, and it was like a welcome visit from an old friend. Thanks Al, and not just for this.

I've played the Sputnik, and they have a remarkably lively sound. And, since Joel made it, it plays beautifully.
