These ukes are brilliantly made and reasonably priced. My first uke was a Kala Jazz archtop electric. Probably a little expensive for a first uke but well worth the money. I love the two tone sunburst color and the F hole style. Sounds great too. I just ordered the Kala pineapple silk screened model (KA-PSS)just because it's so pretty and I will soon be buying the Kala U-Bass as I am also a Bass player. Looks like the first 3 ukes will be Kalas!

I have recently bought a Kala KA - FMC concert uke. I had a less expensive soprano before, on which I have done my best to get some kinda handle on this amazing instrument.....i've only recently discovered the ukulele, with a bit of a background on guitar and fiddle.
My Kala is AWESOME.....The sound blows you away!!!

I am a beginner learning from the Hal Leonard books, YouTube teachers uku underground, so maybe my review doesn't amount to a more professionals hill of beans. I initially bought a soprano Ibanez brand uke, for a couple weeks enjoyed it, what I know now is my E string buzzes. After learning more on the tube in those couple weeks I immediately wanted a tenor for the sound, and got the Kala KA-T model. I love it. I still idolize the kanile and kamaka ukes, and if I ever got good enough to deserve one, I will never get rid of my Kala! It has a clean sound, I can draw out that distinct island sound be altering my strum a bit... Still experimenting a bit. It even sounds a like a simple nylon string guitar if I want it to. Very versatile, and when I compare to the professionals on you tube sound, my Kala sings!
