In this price range, you start to see solid wood ukuleles. These produce a better tone than laminated ukuleles (ukes with a high quality wood veneer, such as koa or mahogany, over a lower quality wood). If a ukulele is solid wood, the seller will usually advertise the fact, so if the description doesn't state either, it's very likely to be laminated.
