The song is currently being used on a british TV advert for Heinz, but it was originally from Sesame Street
Ladybugs Picnic - Sesame Street
According to one of the comments on youtube it was sung by Jim Kweskin of the Jim Kweskin Jug Band fame. His greatest hits on amazon includes ‘Ukulele Lady’ (unfortunately played on the Guitar!!
)
My pc died recently , so the chord sheet was done on Google Docs which, to be fair, seems rather good, and has the advantage of being able to save files straight to PDF - nice)
enjoy

It was recorded by Wayne King and his Orchestra with vocal by Ernie Birchill on February 18, 1931 and released by Victor Records as catalogue number 22643. It was a top 20 hit for Frankie Laine in 1950. Later notably sung by Doris Day (who, in 1957, was the first singer to record it at the slow tempo in which it had been written), Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. It is arguably best known for the rendition by “Mama” Cass Elliot of The Mamas & the Papas, in 1968, which sold 7 million copies.
I personally think this works very well for the ukulele - its a slow chilled piece. Bring back the sunshine so I can get out the ol’ hammock to play this in! I’ve found it works better to play the last note as the A chord instead of just the note on the end.

All of my bluegrass ukulele arrangements are now available for FREE download here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=a…27c76b3f1e1060
All the pieces are arranged in TAB and conventional notation (take your choice).
The majority are written to be played on (high G) soprano, concert or tenor ukes. There are a few arranged for baritone as well.
If you use the arrangements, please let me know how you have got on. I welcome any positive suggestions too.
These include some of the most famous bluegrass guitar and banjo pieces. They include my latest piece, “Turkey in the Straw”.
Have fun

I’ve been searching around for Uke-playable Bowie, so in frustration I arranged one for myself. My original inspiration was the UOGB version, but this solo works well too. I’ve played it mostly with down strokes and playing around with the rhythm. Hope you enjoy.

Here is my latest bluegrass ukulele arrangement. I’m really pleased with it.
Who will be the first to record it on YouTube? No prize, I’m afraid, but see if you can beat me to it.
