Tuning on this is tuned up one full step: aDF#B. If you use capos you can just put it on the second fret and play accordingly.
Intro: C (8 cts), Dm (8cts), A (16 cts)
Am
The tiny midnight caravan
C
Made its way across the black hills
Dm
As I watched from a distance
F
The slow-going glow
Dm
They’re wandering you know
G
Made me pine
C
For the lamplight
F
Where you lie
A
Where you lie
Am
If I took you darling
C
To the caverns of my heart
Dm
Would you light the lamp dear?
F
Would you light the lamp dear?
Dm
And see fish without eyes
G
Bats with their heads
C
Hanging down towards the ground
F
Would you still come around?
A
Come around?
(Solo on the same chords)
Am
I believe in you
C
In your honesty and your eyes
Dm
Even when I’m sloshing
F
In the muck of my demise
Dm
A large part of me
G
Is always and forever tied
C
To the lamplight
F
Of your eyes
A
Of your eyes

Here’s an arrangement of the steel guitar standard played in Hawaiian slack key style. Just tune your 1st string down a full step (A-G); sounds best with a low G string. There’s a cheezy midi file to hear how it sounds. Have fun!

These are adapted from some guitar chords I found on Chordie. They didn’t sound exactly right so I played around with them a little bit.
Here’s my version: Seaside Chords
For the last verse, they do some finger picking along with the strumming. I emulate it by fretting the chords and then picking this pattern: (I’m referring to the strings as G, C, E, and A, and strums as D and U)
After the chorus, before the verse: C – A – - – E – A – E – A – E -
During the end verse: C – A – - – U – D – U – D -
Hopefully that makes sense.

Hey, so this sounds good to me, but I don’t think it’s perfect. My favorite track from last weeks UkeTube
Also, you can hear him moving around on the A-string at the end of some of the progressions, sometimes moving up to Cadd9, and other times going up to the 7th fret. I think there may even be an Am7 in there. If you guys can clear it up I’ll change the chords. Otherwise, I think they’re right… I’m never sure on this stuff. Just holler if something’s wrong.

Just the main riff. Worked out what I think is a uke friendly way of playing it. All though I didn’t put them in I use pull offs when I play a few sections. Fun little riff to play. Not in the same key as song.
New record drops August 31, preorders are up at their official blog. Just don’t steal my signed copy over at RecordStore.co.uk or I’ll be feeling a lot like this song.
