hey, so i really like the first three riffs, but the last one just has something… off. maybe it’s the open E, but it just doesn’t quite sound spot on. wish I could help, but i’m bollocks at tabbing. otherwise terrific tab, thanks for posting it!

close but not quite. on the scale you’re playing it on (F), that open E should be the 3rd fret on C string (Eb).

i personally like to play it on based on the A scale, so:
    A –-–-–-–-9-11-9-–-–-–-–-

    E –-–-9-12-–-–-–12-9-–-–-

    C 9-11-–-–-–-–-–-–-–-–11-

    G ——————————
    3x

    then:
    A –-–-–-–-–-–-–-–-–-–-–-

    E –-–-9-–-–-–-––-–-–-–-

    C 9-11-–-11-9-11-9-6-9-–-–-

    G ——————————

i suck at tabbing too.. but i’m sure you can figure it out :)

if you want to play it on one string (a) try
    3-5-7-10-12-14-12-10-7
    3-5-7-5-3-5-3-0-3
this is easy because every note is on the fret markers

hey i was looking at these and i think the closest sounding tab is this one:

    A -0-2-4-7-9-11–|-9-7-4—2—–|
    E ——————–|—————–|

    A -0-2-4-7-9-11–|-9-7-4———|
    E ——————–|—————–| x3

    A -0-2-4-2-0-2-0—|–0———-|
    E ——————–2-|————-|

that’s what i got when i tried it and i think it sounds very close to the original.

about the 1st one i made, the 3rd part, the E string 2 should be right after that 3rd 0. it helps to copy and paste and match up the lines.

Ok, so you’re all over-complicating this entirely. The actual song is played in A, just like Cliff sad, so the riff is typically played on the A string like Stephen said. This is entirely on the A string except for the one lowest note.

    0-2-4-7-9-11-9-7-4-2-0
    0-2-4-7-9-11-9-7-4-2 (2x)
    0-2-4-2-0-2-0-2 on E string-2-0

If you want to do the cascading riff at the end of the last line, it’s the same pattern and all on the A string. The only tricky part is that it’s fast.
    11-9-7-4-7-4-2

Hope this helped. Once you start playing the notes I think you’ll get a rythm of it.
