There’s no doubting the visual appeal of the flamed maple on these Kala ukuleles. But the major contributor the the tone is the spruce top of the uke (giving it a very immediate sound).

    Fantastic Ukulele with a very bright tone.
    I have not managed to play live with it yet so can’t comment on the EQ and pup system.

    The neck is a dream to play and fret board feels great. I think I might need to slightly tweak set up, but apart from that – Perfect.
