Bacharach and David – Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Instrumental Tab)

Bacharach and David – Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Instrumental Tab)

Continuing the Hal David tribute with Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head. Not particularly a lyrical highlight of his but it did have a ukulele in. At least the original version did. It was replaced by a guitar in the rejiggered version.

I’ve kept the arrangement simple enough that it can be played with your thumb. Although I’m using flick-ups in my version.

That is until the end section. That bit is very silly (that’s why I included it) so you’d be well within your rights just to ditch it.

    Beautiful!
Although it might be a bit too hard for me as a beginner, I’ve tried to play it and soon encountered the first major difficulty: How do I play the notes/strums in brackets?
Thanks so much, I couldn’t find it when I looked for an explanation on the website…
    Best wishes!

So good, thanks Al! Right that’s what I’ll be practicing for the next god knows how long. The end bit is my favourite bit btw :)

Tina: They’re back-up strums. You play them more quietly.

    Nico: Good luck with it!

This is a lovely arrangement of a tune that lends itself so well to the uke. Playing it badly to be honest is easy .Playing it well as you do with the beautiful strums you insert is another matter. The relaxed approach you have really works and inspires me greatly. Thank you

Just lovely, so I’m off to murder it.

John: Thanks so much! You’re very kind.

    Readie: Happy slaughtering!

I have been playing uke since the start of the year and following your blog for most of this time. I think this is one of your best arrangements – it feels like the song was written for uke. This and your arrangement of Rainbow Connection have given me great joy over recent months.

    Phillip: Thanks very much!

Every time I see you have a melody rendition, I think “oh, yeah you could learn THIS version, you know, if you’re a baby.”
    Scumbag brain.
Thanks so much for your excellent tabs, mate. We all really appreciate it!

This Is War, 30 Seconds to Mars
    When I’m Gone, Eminem

And if you could do any Jake Shimabukuro songs, that would AWESOME!!!!

  13. Woodshed October 22nd, 2012 7:56 am

Connor: Jake objects to his stuff being tabbed.

If anyone wants some of Jake’s transcriptions he has a book available from major retailers. I did buy it but it was way beyond my capabilities. His arrangements in the book however have a huge technique bias, often are not written for solo ukulele and frankly I just did not feel ready for size of the challenge.Without telling you my age I can say that even if I continue to improve I shall probably not be playing the uke on this earth when I am ready.Fortunately in the world of the uke there are a few other sources available for arrangements which are with hard work playable.

Brilliant! My Mum’s been asking me to learn how to play this since I first got my ukulele. Such a wonderful arrangement too! Thanks Woodshed!

Liz: You’re welcome! Hope your mum is suitably impressed.

Your arrangements are the best! Deifinitely most comfortable to learn!

p.s. Have You ever considered tabbing Claudia’s theme from “Unforgiven”? It’s a beautiful song and there aren’t any ukulele tabs of it available.

  20. Woodshed October 14th, 2014 8:06 am

Glen: Thanks! I hadn’t but I’ll definitely keep it in mind.

Who was the ukelele play on BJ Thomas’ Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head?

  22. Sarah July 23rd, 2016 3:47 pm

This tab is awesome. I don’t play it too well, but it’s a lot of fun!

  23. Woodshed July 24th, 2016 7:29 pm
