Place a simple Aria AU120 next to a Kiwaya KTS-4. Or an original Martin S0 for that matter. Chances are you will shake your head in disbelief due to their strikingly similar appearances! AU120 is a nice uke. It has been rather “unfairly” underrated–even by its own maker, who I’m told, has discontinued this product.
At about $50, it won’t disappoint its buyer–provided that s/he replaces the strings right away with a new set of higher quality.
I just inherited my uncles Aria A91 concert ukulele, According to the luthier who had to repair a crack on the face wood it is late 50,s or early 60,s as it is hide glued and solid mahogany
I put some Aquila strings on and it sounds great
It is almost certainly (like most ukes) tuned re-entrant, ie gCEA, that is G (above middle C), Middle C, E above middle C, A above middle C. So the lowest note is the 2nd from top, the highest is the A (at the bottom).

I see that the Ukulele is tuned GCEA does that mean that G would be the lowest tone and C somewhat higher and so on to make A the higeghest note ?
