Kala Mahogany KA-SLNG Long Neck Soprano Ukulele

An unusual uke from Kala combining a standard soprano body with a longer neck (and a fretboard that runs up to the soundhole). These combinations are becoming more common but it’s still rare to find on at a low price such as this.

I bought this uke off of recommendations from this site and I love it! It’s a great beginner uke at a great price. I love the high-gloss finish and the build quality is decent. My favorite thing is the combination of sweet soprano sound with more frets and room to move. I’m very please and I would buy it again.

The only thing that isn’t great about it is its tendency to, with more vigorous playing, get out of tune quicker (not sure if that’s just a ukulele trait or what). Overall, though, it’s a great beginner uke and a terrific deal for less than $100.

Note: I got an upgraded package on Amazon for a little over $100 that included a hard case, a tuner, and a polishing cloth. Highly recommended as the case is of good quality and will help it last a long time and a tuner is always useful if you don’t have one already.

I bought my first uke in waikiki. Its a Kala KA-SLNG and I love it. The guy in the store at the outrigger on the beach showed me four chords to get me going and you can play ANYTHING to them! haha Great little instrument and beautiful sound for the size. Great to look at too with the gloss finish and dark wood grain. Had my entire hostel singing along with me from that night on. Instant hit.

Got something to say?
