this is a wonderful ukulele. for being a laminate, it has a very sweet, rich tone. a little on the quiet side (but that’s a plus for me, considering my roommates get irritated by hours and hours of uke noodling). great looks (though the abalone-looking inlay isn’t actual abalone) and good construction. it’s very light, very transportable. as it’s a lanikai, it comes with aquilas—a major plus. and it’s got great intonation—it feels SO good to play. for $235 (including a case a set up!) i couldn’t be happier.
