If you’re looking for an 8-string ukulele, I wouldn’t go for one any cheaper than this one by Lanikai. There are 8 string ukes with a dolphin motif around that are very cheap. But I’ve had two people tell me that they bought these and the bridge was ripped off them.

This was my first ukulele and I absolutely adore it. To be fair, my nephew (the more experienced uke player) had the same model and I decided when the time came, I wouldn’t settle for anything less than the 8-string Lanikai. At only $20 more than the acoustic alone, I got the electric option too. Found it on Ebay for $240, free shipping! That’s 50.00 cheaper than anywhere else on the net that I could find. I highly recommend this ukulele…

I bought the Lu-8e for something different from my high G 4 string Royal. At first I wasn’t entirely happy with the 8 string sound. I thought it was my style and that I would get better over time. I am a reasonable player. After a year or so I removed the high strings and I now have a low G tenor uke with electric pick up. I love.it. I know….I could have just bought a 4 string tenor to begin with. But this actually sounds really good.

Got something to say?
