Makala MK-P Pineapple Ukulele

Makala are Kala‘s introductory range of ukuleles. Their pineapple is really cheap – if you’re looking for a really cheap ukulele that’s still playable and has a good sound to it, this one’s a good choice. But it’s worth getting one with set-up and some decent strings (like Aquila) if you can find them.

And don’t worry about it being pineapple shaped. This won’t make any difference to the sound or the playability.

I had recently purchased this ukulele on Amazon and let me tell you that I have absolutely fallen in love with it! If you want a cheap uke that sounds like an expensive one, get this brand! This is coming from someone who has played “expensive” ukulele’s before.

Special ordered mine from MGM at Hawaiian Music Supply and love it. The setup HMS does is solid. Sounds great to my ears and I dig the simple, rustic look. Didn’t break the bank so if the uke breaks, replacing it is easy enough. Delivery was fast.

Fits into my motorcycle’s saddlebags or my backpack. The size and shape make it easy to take along and keep learning and practicing: can’t practice if it isn’t with you. I’m very happy with it as my first ukulele.

Got something to say?
