Earnest Instruments was set up by Joel Eckhaus in 1976. Since then, they’ve gone on to produce a range of distinctive and trend setting ukuleles. As far as I’m aware they were the first people to come out with Telecaster and Les Paul styled ukuleles in the form of the Tululele (as played by Eddie Vedder) and the La Paula. But they also have plenty of more traditional ukuleles including the Stadelele (as used by John King).

I have an Earnest Instruments Koa “Ukulele Hall of Fame” model soprano uke. It is a beautiful instrument and sounds just as sweet. It immediately became my go-to ukulele. Always gets compliments for appearance and its bright lively sound.
