Banjo Ukuleles

Banjo ukuleles go under a huge variety of names; Banjoleles, banjo-ukes, bukes to name but a few.

Banjo ukuleles are tuned like ukuleles but have a vellum like a banjo. There are two broad styles of banjolele. The heavier style such as the Abbott Monarch popular in the UK thanks to the influence of George Formby. The lighter style such as Slingerland and Gibson which are more common in the US.
