Led Zeppelin – Whole Lotta Love

whole lotta love led zeppelin ukulele riff
Whole Lotta Love midi

Almost universally referred to as ‘The Mighty Zeppelin’, anyone who says they’re not the greatest band ever to walk the earth is just plain wrong. The news that they are to reform is about the most pant-wettingly exciting thing to happen since the discovery of fire.

If you’re not familiar with the crosses in the tab, those are dead notes. To play them, you rest your fretting fingers on the strings (without pressing them down) and strum. You should get just a click.

Excellent! Have really enjoyed the selection of riffs – you definitely need to do the greatest guitar-uke riffs in the world volume 2. We want the final countdown!

Got a(c/dc) pretty good idea what might come in 1st ;-)

You’re nearly right. You’ll just have to wait and see :P

A few months ago i had my own try on this riff. I play an F instead of your C5 and C-D# (0-3 on the C-String) instead of your G-A#. The advantage is that it’s easier to do the little bending (not included in your version) of the second single note. Plus if you tune your ukulele one step down you’re also in the right key. Try it (and give me a report)!

    Come on! It’s dead obvious!

The top riff will be from Britney Spears!

Thanks for the suggestion, Fert. I like that version – particularly bending it. But I prefer the C5 chord to the F chord, it’s a bit too major. What version of F are you using?

Retrovertigo: Hahaha. Yes, you’ve rumbled me.

    Thanks for your opinion.
    I use 2-0-1-0 and sometimes 2-0-1-3.
Oh, i just found two another reasons for me why i rather like my version. 1. I can mute the strings with my ringfinger. 2. For me it’s easier to change from F to D# [3-3-3-1] (which comes a few bars after the intro) than from C5 to A# [3211].

..but this is just my subjective opinion, you know.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to see the last riff!

That’s interesting. I don’t like D# at all. I much prefer A#. Everyone has their different preferences.

Ace tab, I dont know how possible it would be but could you possibly tab some maiden? I absolutely love them and the uke in equal measure! Cheers.
