Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love

Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love (Chords)

I thought I’d celebrate my 200th post by putting up a song that will make you lose any respect you might have had for me. This is my favourite song at the moment (with Sexy! No, No, No a close second), I can’t get enough of it.

For those not in the UK, Leona Lewis won last years X-Factor (like American Idol but with water fights). She’s always being compared with Whitney or Mariah, but this song is far better than anything they’ve ever done.

UPDATE: Craig Robertson has recorded a cover of Bleeding Love and it’s fantastic. Here it is:

DAMN! ‘You cut me up” shit. I love it.

I think I’ve actually GAINED respect for you for turning me on to this song.

    wow that is hot.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes it.

No one in the mainstream seems to have noticed that this is a ‘He Hit Me And It Felt Like A Kiss’ song. Either people have lost the ability to listen to lyrics or I’m taking the song much too literally.

Yes, the lyrics raise it a notch above, for sure. It has a sullen charm I like. I may have to do a cover of it if I find the time. It has that knife edge to it that is brilliant.

  8. Hugo morgan July 12th, 2008 3:56 pm

    what is the strumming pattern?
    thanks a bunch…

  9. Woodshed July 12th, 2008 4:20 pm

There’s no uke, so you’re free to make up your own strumming pattern. Down, down, up, up, down, up is always a useful standby.

Ha! I just covered this song on my autoharp. good to see that others are thinking this song needs a revamp folk style.

Andy: Great idea. Is there anywhere we can hear your version?

I love singing this song, and always wanted to with a Uke… Now that I have a uke to play and this easy arrangement I can bust this beautiful number out on valentines day. Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for doing this song! I still can’t do tabs yet because I’m still a beginner (barely got my ukulele about a month ago), but thanks for doing the chords!!

  21. Woodshed January 9th, 2012 11:50 am

    Vivian: Thanks very much.

  22. Lexi January 9th, 2013 4:03 am

does anybody know the strum beat?

  23. Umar December 31st, 2016 9:53 pm

I believe there is an error on page 2 of the chordsheet of this song. The chords become out of sync with the lyrics because of a missing F and goes straight to Dm-Bb-C. If someone could confirm this that would be great thanks.

  24. Woodshed January 2nd, 2017 9:23 am

Umar: Looks like you’re right. It should be the same as the chorus on page 1. Thanks.
