Prescilla Ahn, Jake Wildwood and The Barnkickers on the UkeTube

I think I should probably change the name now that YouTube have stolen it. Anyhoo, this week I was really impressed with Jake Wildwood. He’s put a whole load of old timey uke and non-uke videos up this week. You can download all his albums for free on his website.

The Barnkickers – One Less Tear

Jake Wildwood – Cuckoo Bird

Priscilla Ahn – Find My Way Back Home

Ukebucket – I Guess I Better Dance

SeanBoke – Ne Run Down

Oliver Cashman-Brown – Milk Boy

Jason – The Ragged Little Flea

Ken Middleton – Banks of the Ohio

Cali Rose – OO-KOO-LAY-LAY

Wow. Priscilla Ahn is great. What a voice.
Just what you need to hear when your town is over-run by top hat wearing, upper class, champagne swilling, horce racing toss-monkeys.

I just got “no longer available” on all the videos except the first one.

Iain: Glad to help you through the hat festival.

King Curtzel: That’s strange, they all seem to be working fine for me.

    Thanks Woodshed
so pleased to catch see this mailing.
Loved the barnkickers particularly because of the great part-singing, the arrangement, the vid and who wrote that song?
Half the ukeworld must be in love with PA, that includes me. What a girl, what a voice and lovely modest uke.
    best wishes

The Barnkickers are damn good, rogb. I’m not sure who wrote the song.

I wrote the song. I’m the father half of the Barnkickers and I’m glad you enjoyed our music and video. My daughter Amanda (age 16) writes music too and our newest video “Apology Song” features a tune she wrote. You can see it on youtube (channel is “bassfiddlesteve”) or on our myspace page (click on name for link). We also have another original song and video called “Night Song” plus some live stuff on youtube.

Well, just bought my first ukulele, and now I’m practicing every day. I also play violin in my band called the beatzers.
Now I really want to know the tabs of this song from the barnkickers, I love those songs!
    Anyone?

I would love to see the tab for the Barnkickers songs. I love the sound…the panache….the skill! I am a singer who is just waiting for her new (cheap) tenor uke to come in the mail. I am smitten with this instrument and the sound! Please—let me sing their songs! I a, also a bass player in a bluegrasss band but started my own gig to do old swing. Here is a repertoire I can love!
