Tripping Lily, Sarah Palin: UkeTube

All the uke gals are obsessed with Sarah Palin this week: The UkuLady, Jen Kwok, Poopy Lungstuffing. And there’s plenty of non-political uke action from the likes of Tripping Lily, Peter Madcat Ruth and Howlin Hobbit.

Tripping Lily – California

And you can watch them singing Jim Beloff’s Hawaiian Melody here.

Peter Madcat Ruth – Come On In My Kitchen

Krabbers – Hitchin’ a Lift

Ukulelezo – Hot in Herre

Todd Baio – Standing Beside of a Neighbour

Brian Hefferan – Wild Cherries Rag

Howlin’ Hobbit – Girl From Ipanema

HigeTomoGuitar – Days of Wine and Roses

Mary Anne McTrowe – Theo Tams

Mayan Fox – Easy/Jump Around

Frankie – In Vain

Skip ahead 45 seconds to avoid the yammering.

Ah. Brian Hefferen proving, once again, that he’s one of the most under-appreciated ukulele aces in the world today.

And HigeTomoGuitar, despite his “non-ukey” name, has it going on! Is he tuning that sweet little soprano low-G?

Thanks much for featuring my stab at Girl From Ipanema!

And, since I seem to have rudely forgotten, thanks for last week’s feature of Snake Suspenderz live vid too.

Hobbit: His stuff never fails to blow me away. He’s a major inspiration of mine.

Todd: Did you see his episode on the Ukulele Safari. Well worth checking out. He’s an excellent player (although I wouldn’t complain if he muted behind that slide a little more).

Brian is one of the greatest uke pickers on youtube, that’s for sure! I love his repertoire too. He’s a true original on the uku and I love that.

And, erm, did Mr. Higetomeguitar drill a hole in his Martin uke??

Thank you, Woodshed, for these little youtube compilations. Mucho great ukers around!
When or where can we see or hear you again?

Way to go, there, Woodshed, putting the name Palin in the blog. I bet you drew some new traffic with that one.

We already had Ukes for Obama up and going. Now, it looks like we also have Ukes against Palin.

Thank goodness for the ukulele and your wonderful blog- I will have something to pay attention to after November, after all.

Winin’boy: I think he must have done. Tsk, guitarists!

I can’t stand making videos, so it may well be quite a while before I put up another one.

Lonna: No one turning up with Palin related searches yet. I’m trying my best to ignore US politics. I have a horrible feeling the Republicans might win and I don’t think I could handle it if they did.

The polls are looking close right now.

But, I think it’s like watching the Amazing Race. They have to make it look close up until the end so we keep paying attention.
