I have been barely avoiding tears — and not always succeeding — since I heard about John’s passing. It’s very hard to lose one of your heroes.

    R.I.P. you lovely man.

Not a good year for ukulele players. Kavanagh will be missed by me, for sure.

I dont consider the source, I just like good songs. I’ve had the Dido song on my list since it came out.

Hey thanks for the linkage! Those Welly Ukes are some great folks I tell ya. It was an honor to be able to talk with them about their music. :-)

    Uke on!

Craig Robertson’s cover of White Flag was certainly exhuberent, but to me, the definative uke cover is by Chipswow – a young girl from France who plays effortless uke, is wonderful at picking songs that compliment her lovely voice and reminds me how much fun playing is supposed to be. Check her out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIZB0-Kqp70 Also, her cover of Lily Allen’s Fear is better than the original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ibpb_Br6Uk&feature=channel_page

Hobbit and Craig: It was a real shock hearing about his death. Particularly coming so soon after John King.

Carrie: Thanks for doing the podcast. It’s a top listen.

Steven: chipswow is one of those people I’m waiting to blow me away – coz she’s going to at some point. She’s got a lot of personality. I wouldn’t describe her playing as ‘effortless’ but she’s improving all the time.

Oh, no! I can’t believe John Kavanagh died! I was listening to Parlour Music on my CD player yesterday thinking about how great it is and how I couldn’t wait for his next CD to be released.

Marcy: Parlour Music is a great album. I’ve heard he had already recorded tracks for the next CD so I hope those see the light of day.
