Biz Markie – Just A Friend (Tab)

just a friend ukulele tab

Download

As a companion to the Guitar Riffs for Ukulele series, I thought I’d do a set of ‘Not Guitar Riffs for Ukulele’ – mostly piano/keyboard stuff. And I don’t think I could start anywhere other than this. Sampled from Freddie Scott and made a million times better by Biz Markie.

When you’re playing this one on uke it’s worth adding in a few supporting strums between the notes. Which is what I did when I quoted it at the end of my version of Gossip

Come on, kids, pffff ha, pffff ha.

Oh baby Al, you got what I need. Seriously, just yesterday I was thinking about this song and how it would work on the ukulele.

Dan and amber: Must be something in the air. Or perhaps it’s one of those summer songs.

zym: My voice isn’t even good enough to carry off this song.

melissa: Is that you or the uke that’s pretty. Both, I’m sure.

first of all thank you so much for doing this! i love this song and i’m so glad to be able to play it on uke.

also: i don’t speak tablature so this will be hard for me to explain but the first 7 by itself (on the fourth string) is followed by an 8 on the second string.
and i think that 8 sounds better as a 9 on the fourth string. if that makes any sense.

sounds great either way. thanks again!

    dude that’s awesome

Adam: That fits with the harmony, so do it if you prefer it. But I find it easier to play the 7th fret on the A string (same note).

    yunkie: Thanks.

I can’t read these cords and strumming. I’m just a beginer using the uku. Will someone tell me the cords and stumming. Please this version sounds so beautiful.
