Marc Jacobs ukulele bags???

A bunch of new stuff on Uker Tabs: Home by Joey Cape, Harry Potter Theme , (Just Like) Starting Over by John Lennon, Rihanna’s Umbrella, Ace of Spades and Grandaddy’s A.M. 180 riff.

Here’s a cute little short. It does play into something I’ve noticed following mentions of ukulele on Twitter. I’m amazed how many girls (and it’s always girls) react to the wish for a ukulele with by tweeting, “Who’s going to buy me a ukulele?”

A little history of the ukulele from Australia (Thanks to Gary).

Jeff does some eagle-eyed uke spotting on the trailer for The Princess and the Frog. You might want to pause the video at the 1:50 mark.

Buster Keaton plays ukulele for a bust.

Blind Pilot do a ukulele version of 3 Rounds and Down for Daytrotter.

Time Out proposes a ukulele quarter for London.

The Mustache: a ukulele rock opera.

Fancy ukulele straps on Etsy.

Ukulele graffiti.

Sometimes changing ukulele strings is frustrating (some decidedly salty language in that one).

if i was a girl i’d tweet about wanting a ukulele and happily exploit anyone whom would wish to buy me one but sadly i am not a girl and i doubt anyone would so much as buy me a felt pick let alone a uke.

Any chance of getting that Blind Pilot track tabbed? I adore that song!

I’m confused by those ukulele cases. They do just look like bags. Would they keep a ukulele safe? I wish I knew French or Spanish (there’s another site linked on that page selling ukulele bags, but it’s in spanish). I’ve asked around and my lady friends have heard of Marc Jacob but of course I have not.

Cardboardfrog, I would buy you a felt pick. Probably not a ukulele, though, because I would just want to keep it, and also they are pretty expensive. Maybe a drawing of a ukulele.

I do hope all those girls that want one get a ukulele, but also that they buy it themselves. I think it would be kind of embarrassing to have someone you didn’t know very well buy you something, especially a costly something.

If you go to http://www.peseta.org/index2.php and click on Collaborations in the dropdown box, there is also a link to translate the page into English (or Spanish), it has pictures and more information.

Type in on Google ‘Marc Jacobs’ go on their website.
Then go on ‘Special Items’, you will find the ukulele bag there for $98 but i don’t know how much it is in pounds.
In my opinion there lush and i will proably get one some day!

cbf and Anne-Marie: A girl gave me a homemade ukulele bag once. That was a good present. I love homemade stuff.

    April: Erm… maybe.

byjimini: I hope it’s as good as it looks.

Jimmy: They’re definitely for show rather than protection. You can see pics inside here and here. And here’s the link Tobias mentioned.

I hate fashion websites. All style over usefulness.

    Tobias: Thanks for the link.

“I think it would be kind of embarrassing to have someone you didn’t know very well buy you something, especially a costly something.”

Hmmmm…I am always quite flattered! And gracious.

Jodi: I don’t think I’ve ever been given anything by someone I didn’t know. I think my reaction would probably be closer to Anne-Marie’s.

I do believe that the chords for the Blind Pilot song are:

    C#
    A# minor
    G#
    F#

Or you can tune it up one step (or use capo on the first fret) and just play:
    C, A minor, G, F

    simple!

  12. Woodshed November 1st, 2009 2:15 pm

    Chris: Thanks for the chords.
