Dent May, Craig Chee, Sebi: Saturday UkeTube

Fewer videos than usual this week. Must be down to me being in a bad mood. I wasn’t even keen on Sophie Madeleine’s new one at first (it grew on me). And I dragged down the average by uploading five videos of my own.

If you want you fill-up of music, here are a few excellent non-uke videos:

Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears – Bobby Booshay
Lindi Ortega – I Never Loved a Man…
Tripping Lily – The Little Black Dress

Dent May – Love Song 2009

Sebi – Ace of Spades

Craig Robertson – Steady As She Goes

Sophie Madeleine – Being Around

Daddy Stovepipe – Winin’ Boy Blues

Craig Chee

Michelle Blades – Quarters (Part 1)

Hi Dent….glad to see you’ve stopped ripping off Magnetic Fieldz, but I’m afraid we’ve already got Jeremy Warmesly…..come back when you can sing in tune.

dent does make ‘good time’ music….don’t know if i’ll get around to downloading more than “Oh Paris!” but i get a kick out of a lot of his vids….

heck, the picks are great as usual……

    cheers,

    todd

I guess I have to say something about DM. Alright, add him to the “pick” column.

Craig has a very nice article on Kepasa Ukuleles on Ukulelia, as the first of a series of articles on custom ukes & their makers, & he incorporates the Whale video seen a short while ago here.

A video I stumbled upon just last night that might help to cope with
    a bad mood —
Mad Tea Party (with Maisy) – On Youtube as: “move you” on kgnu.
A live acoustic performance of the song on the Found A Reason cd, its been up since Feb. ’09 with fewer than 90 views & deserves better than that.

…Talking of bad moods, I missed Dent when he played in York…no wonder I was so pissed off…
…Talking of being pissed off…It’s not possible to be when you’ve got, Motor head, The Raconteurs and Lemon heads, all on the Uke…
…Right…back to being depressed…due to unreliable babysitter I missed the re-entrants when they played York last night…
    …But Al…thanks for the brief interlude…nice vid’s…
…right I’m off to play a sad song on my four stringed friend…

    I love Craig!

Jimmy: I like Dent – he commented on this blog. Stephin Merrit and Jeremy Warmsley haven’t – so screw them.

Dent: Glad to hear they’re nice guys.

todd: I wouldn’t have picked that as the best track on the album.

Ron: Thanks for mentioning the track. here’s a link for anyone interested.

Nick: Hope the sad song cheered you up.

    Aimee: All the girls do.

    I love Sophie Madeleine…
Do you think all the boys do?
    She’s great!
    Thanks!

Al, your comment to Nick there just reminded me of this:

A song called sad music is uplifting; not the most gifted uke player or singer you’ll ever see but it entertains the hell outta me.

P.s another great uketube. I love Sebi’s videos and there’s nothing quite like seeing someone smile that much singing motorhead.

Marcelo: I think you’re definitely in the majority.

Go Team Yam: Thanks for the link.

I don’t think it’s just the boys that love Sophie Madeleine! I love her also.
