Olivia Ruiz, Miss Jess, tUnE-YaRdS: Saturday UkeTube

Videos this week from the mind-bending tUnE-YaRdS (and don’t miss FIYA from the same session), Miss Jess, Siri Nilsen (same song as last time but it’s too good), Nate Lieby (I strongly advise you close your eyes for 15 seconds at the 2:25 mark) and plenty more.

A lot of stuff I wanted to post this week – I’ve gone over my self imposed limit of ten and there were more I wanted to post. If you’re still gagging for more after these check out Kate Sloan, Wilfried Welti and The Corner Laughers (thanks to Ron Hale for that last one).

Liam Wilkinson – In That Dress

Olivia Ruiz – My Heart Belongs to Daddy

Galapaghost – Lost Generation

Nate Lieby – Nothing Compares 2U

Steven Strauss and Billy Wilson – Motor Dude Special

casarole45 – Fields of Arthenry

Gavin Ono – Howl’s Moving Castle

Is there some zeitgeist I missed out on with the “Miss Your Name Here” female musician naming convention? Even my band leader has taken to calling me Miss Jodi onstage.

Thanks for including a mention and a link to the video, Al.
I emailed Khoi (bass) about your including it & he says
they recorded it as a birthday gift for Karla’s (uke) mom,
who used to play the song with her band back in the “old days.”
Ouch, I was a teen when the song was released.

Miss J-Hob: She looks about 14!

    Miss Herman: I’d agree.

Miss Jodi: Catch up, grandma, all the kids are doing it.

Miss Ron: I think I half arranged an interview with them. I’ll have to catch up with them about it in the new year.

… Liam Wilkinson: Borderline misogynist, especially to a hardened gender defender like myself… and yet… I wet myself laughing anyway! It must have been good!

Ahhhhh! I didn’t close my eyes! And I was eating! Aghrrr!

Aimee: I warned you. I don’t see how it’s misogynistic.
