The Killers – Mr Brightside (Riff)

MP3

There’s a very good reason why Julia Nunes went for a chord-based version when she covered this tune – the riff is a nightmare to play on uke.

It’s not in the same key as the original and slightly adapted. I’ve used harmonics for the notes at the 12 fret to buy a bit of time but you can just fret them normally if you prefer.

I found it more easier and even more accurate (for my ear) to play it:

———–10—–12—–10—–
——–7——7——7——-7-
——————————–
—-0—————————

And so on with other parts.:)

robe: Thanks for the tab. Easier, I’d agree with. More accurate, I wouldn’t.

Couldn’t you just post the up the chords that Julia Nunes did when she covered this song? It’s a great cover and I’m sure a lot of people would enjoy learning how to play it, seeing as there is an earlier comment that also talks about how to play this song like her.

Sorry, I’m a compelete beginner at this, but what does the little diamond sign between the twelve and the zero mean?

Draco: They’re harmonics. There’s a link in the post.

If you are having trouble getting to the 12th fret for the harmonics I find using pinch harmonics works well. It means you can keep your left hand in the one place as well which is always a bonus. Also it looks rather impressive at full speed.
Great tab Woodshed keep playing :)
