Clock Opera, Love Leighs: UkeTube

A lack of visual appeal from some of this week’s videos with Wendall Hall and May Singhi Breen hailing from a time before Flips and webcams. No such excuse for Clock Opera who put up a teaser video for this song ages ago but I’ve waited and there’s still nothing.

The rest of the videos are, of course, a feast for the eyes with people who are uniformly radiant as a sunrise made flesh.

Clock Opera – A Piece Of String

Michelle Blades – My Own Home

Lila Burns – Driven

Fred King and May Singhi Breen – Waitin’ Around

Wendell Hall – It Ain’t Gonna Rain No Mo

Love Leighs – Sparks Fly

Audrey Lighting – Welcome Tokyo

The fake ukulele orchestra disabled likes/dislikes now. I guess the dislikes were mounting too high. Certainly not the caliber of the UOGB.

There’s something about Lila’s videos that give me a little smile inside… I want to sing along even though I don’t know the words… so I make some up.

AND, I really enjoyed Audrey Lighting’s vid too… it wasn’t what I was expecting at all- I think I want flashing lights on one of my ukes now!

akehawa was a cheery enough background that I actually walked over and started cleaning my kitchen…

    thanks for those today!

Carl: Thanks for letting me know. An inevitable development.

L.bo: I definitely do want one of those lighty-up ukes.

    todd: Glad you enjoyed!

That Michelle Blades cover is absolutely fantastic. Haunting almost. Certainly wouldn’t mind if that got tabbed out. ;)

The Love Leighs are amazing – Miss Jess rocks my world. I highly recommend their new album ‘Lively’.

    I want a lighty-up ukulele too now.

nick: Not planning on doing any baritone tabs in the near future, I’m afraid.

Bossa: I’m going to email you my reply – too hot for the blog!

Clock Opera reminds me of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, maybe if they had gone New Wave in the 80’s.

I love Lila Burns’ song/video! The song is fabulous and it isn’t often that one sees a well filmed/arranged video like that for an original song. Good stuff.

I’ll have to check out the rest of her channel…

    Fishburn: You’re welcome.

Jill: Have to admit, I’ve always hated Roxy Music.

Paul: Do. She’s got so much good stuff on there.
