Le Domino banjo ukulele – haven’t seen one of those before.
A few more Ohana resonators up including my favourite, the Vita.

That Le Domino is a real bargain. Elderly Instruments has one in unplayable condition and they are asking for more money.
On the subject of reso ukes. Republic Guitars of Texas has come out with a wood bodied resonator. I just got mine and I really like it. I now own a brass body Republic and a the wood body. I also own a National Resophonic Style O Deluxe and I’ve played a few other resonators. For the money, the Republic is great. It cost’s about one fifth what a mahogany National costs.
I’ve played more than a few of the le Domino banjo ukuleles over the years. I’ve yet to play one that sounded any good, even at banjo uke standards.
I bought the prototype of the Republic Wood Bodied resonator and as Jon said “Its great for the money”
You can see James Quah playing it here :

I have also played the Ohana’s with the magical “Delta Cones” and they are great instruments.
You pays your money…..
Would love to get my hands on a regular Le Domino uke.
Craig, Thanks for that Le Domino banjo uke review. I’ve come close to buying one a couple of times but I didn’t want to buy without playing. You’ll have to admit they look cool. Truthfully, there are a lot of old banjo ukes out there and I’ve never played one that I liked.
J-Hob: Yeah, the price is a sticking point with me as well (and I got into trouble for saying so.
Jon and Tony: Thanks for the info on the Republic resonators. I’ll have to try one out.
Craig: Thanks for the info, I shall give them a wide berth.
Rob: Me too.
Those vita resos sound really great, I played one at the Cheltenham uke fest. Price is rather too spicy for my pocket though…
