Peggy Sue – Lover Gone (Tab)

This is probably my favourite ukulele song from last year. And it’s an excellent song to start practising your fingerpicking. There are just two strings involved (E and A) and the rhythm is constant. Pluck the E string with your thumb and A string with your index finger. Other than that, just a lot of sliding around.

In bars 24 and 28 I really wanted to tab 7 – 9 – 7 – 9 rather than 7 – 8 – 7 – 8 because the 8 is very discordant. But I’m fairly sure that’s what she’s playing (it’s a noisy part of the song anyway so can get away with either).

    Very mellow, the little diarama/fingerpuppet thing in the video reminds me of something you’d see in an antique shop.

    P.S. I know you don’t really take requests, but I can’t find anything all that great for Fly Me to the Moon and I NEED to learn it! Please!

    I was recently feeling inadequate for avoiding almost all fingerpicking. This rectified the situation. Unfortunately I’m having one hell of a time remembering the words/being able to continue picking while trying to read lyrics. I suppose this is where someone tells me something unoriginal about practice making perfect that I don’t want to listen to.

    Thanks for doing this. I was happy to see some Peggy Sue on here.. She’s great..

    I’m in the same boat as Redmond.. I have a friend whose birthday is coming up soon and I know that you like Charileissocoollike and he had a new song come out called the Big Bang 2 about Doctor Who… (Yes, sadly it is Doctor Who..) I know that you don’t like Doctor Who but if you could tab it out and do the chords.. That would make my day and my friends birthday..
