I’m taking a blog break for the next 3 weeks. Including an actual holiday (in Slovenia) and two weeks working on the top secret Operation Exploding Carrats.
See you on the 24th.
I’m taking a blog break for the next 3 weeks. Including an actual holiday (in Slovenia) and two weeks working on the top secret Operation Exploding Carrats.
See you on the 24th.
I went to Slovenia with my orchestra, it’s a lovely place. Have a good time.
Enjoy your break! Slovenia sounds interesting, I know very little about the country. I’m enjoying a nice paternity holiday right now!
Have fun in slovenia!
Have fun!
Whatever will we do without you?
Have a wonderful holiday!
I’ll miss you! Got loads on the site to occupy myself I suppose, only just made it to the improver section!
Be sure and take your Balalaika!
Slovenia, eh? I’ve got a friend there! Could you say ‘Hi’ to her for me?
Oh, and enjoy the weather! I think I heard it’s lovely there!
Thanks for the well wishes folks. I’m answering my comments from the balcony and this is the view. Beats Derby.
Emily: Thanks (and, yes, Slovenia).
J-Hob: Thanks and congratulations on the wee-un. Caught the air-uke photo on Flickr.
cbf, micto and Carrie: Cheers! I am doing.
Josh: Yep, no complaining until you can play everything on the site!
Phredd: I don’t think there’s much balalaika action round here. It definitely feels like more of an Alpine culture than a Russian one. Unfortunately, the only Slovenian music I’ve caught so far is the pop on Slovene MTV – which seems to be stuck in a 90s blondes-in-bathtubs world.
SuperFog: I just shouted, “Hi SuperFog’s friend” into the valley. It’s not lovely right now. It’s been overcast since I got here. But at least the rain is holding off.
Nothing wrong with Derby! I live there! :P
Anyway enjoy your holiday! :)
Come you back, you British blogger; come you back to Ukule-(le Hunt)!
Beautiful! What do I know about eastern Europe? Southern Europe? Anyway, it looks gorgeous!
Beautiful view from the balcony, Al. Enjoy!
I’m not sure I can cope until the 24th. Does anyone know how to drive this thing ?
Aiden: I live in Derby too and there’s plenty wrong with it!
Dan: I’m back (in the UK if not on the blog).
Emily: Let’s just say South Eastern Europe.
Phredd: It’s even better when the sun is out.
andy: Have you considered turning to drugs to get you through?
as an old friend once said, “You should pick one drug, and stick with it. Mine’s Ale.” I tried to live by this doctrine, but disappointingly I’ve also experimented with wine. And gin. And single malt from Islay is also nice. And Highland Park, come to think of it. The difficulty for me is that I can’t concentrate enough to practice. I don’t touch the Completer-Finisher sides on a Belbin test, so I like the fact that something new comes up before I’ve got to grips with the previous tab. Is it the 24th yet ?
Wow, the sunshine view is even better. Beautiful. Looks good for the soul. Peace.
Have a fun-filled, delightful trip!
New to the website and I love it!
I also love playing Bossa Nova on the uke.
Some of these songs are hard to find.
I’ve been trying to find the song “baiao”
by Astrud Gilberto with no luck.
It sounds pretty simple, but I haven’t been able
to figure it out.
Does anyone else like playing Bossa Nova, and if so, does anyone know how to play “Biaio”?
Does the TARDIS have anything to do with you coming back?
Plenty wrong with Derby? So speaks a man who’s never lived in Sunderland!
Have a nice one!
PHEW! It’s been a crazy month, what a relief to know I haven’t actually missed anything here.
Just a few back entries to read- perfect timing for your vacation.. because, the world really revolves around me. *smug grin*
Chris: Sorry, don’t know the song.
OR4NG3: Yeah, yeah. I get the hint.
Ian: No one is saying Sunderland is a total shithole. Speaking of shitholes, what are you doing supporting David Gibb?
Marcelo: Thanks, I do. I should have made it 4 weeks though.
L.bo Marie: You should just count yourself lucky I haven’t banned you after the smile comment ;)
so blessed really.
Sunderland IS a total shithole. As for David Gibb, I expect we’ll be playing ukuleles. (I don’t know who he is).
We’ve made it to the 24th. Welcome Back!!!
Phredd: Thanks! Glad to be back.
Hope you had a great time visiting Slovenia. My grandparents grew up there, so it is on my ‘bucket list’ of places to visit someday. My mother’s cousin played both the tamboritza and acordian professionally.
John: Hope you get a chance to visit some day. It’s well worth the trip.
Have a lovely trip! (To Slovenia?)
