Bella Hemming – (She Might Love You If You Learn To) Play Guitar (Chords)

Bella Hemming – (She Might Love You If You Learn To) Play Guitar (Chords)

After all the ukulele songs about the ukulele, it makes a pleasant change to have a song about guitars. It’s terrible advice, of course, but a catchy song and an excellent chord progression.

Suggested Strumming

For the strumming pattern you can use:

Do that once for each chord. During the Bbmaj7 – Bbadd9 move you can use the same strum but change here:

The only exception is with the Bbmaj7 to C9 in the chorus. There just do the first bar of the pattern for each chord.

Buy it on iTunes

Requested by Peter, Sarah and a bunch of YouTubers.

Yay! Thanks so much. She’s pretty frickin’ adorable…

Better to play the ukulele,of course. Toss in the kazoo, and you’re home free. Really impress the daylights out of her by driving and uking at one and the same time.

There also are songs by guitar groups about the ukulele. One nice one is Ukulele Johnny. A few videos of that about, but my favorite, and the louder the better –

I’ve been trying to listen to new music today and decided that every modern female singer sounds like this. How do they all sound exactly the same?

When are the music companies going to figure out that there are musicians out there who can entertain (much like this young lady) without a strip tease and canned music?

So is it awful advice because its singing about guitar, or the vain beleif that it will get you a girl?

Thanks for tabbing this one out yet again.

    mia: Indeed she is.

    Ron: Thanks for the link.

Jodi: I think you need to widen your search.

Isabel: Yeah, I was humming it all weekend.

    Kelsi: You’re welcome.

Lindy Danny: I think it’s safe to assume never.

muz: The vain belief that it will get you a girl.

I might have to break my personal rule not to buy from iTunes. Looked it up – this one is $1.69, but will be worth it!

Al, I think that you can read my mind. No seriously. Really. Like I bet you know that my favorite color is orange. and that I play the ukulele. Um…. I like british television and music even though I live in America… Punk music from the mid 80’s sits extremely well with me… I think that you know me too well…… Creepy.

That chord progression sounds a lot like a Sophie Madeline song, regardless! adorable and great, I’ll be picking up the uke to learn it :D

  13. Newke October 9th, 2010 7:40 pm

Thank you so much :D My friend and i are playing for a girl in school, as a ukulele duet thing, and i just can’t get the song out of my head :D thanks again xD

Andy: 79p here. And worth every penny.

OR4NG3: Yep, I’m all like Derren Brown and shit.

Colin: I think there’s a definite Sophie influence there. I think you can hear it in the strumming in particular.

Newke: Good luck with the performance.

Wow… This chick is only 16, I did not notice! She’s younger than me… That kinda sucks, but also sort of rocks. Hey, that was a rhyme! T’was about time…

I’ll stop now. Thanks for putting this up!

guitain: Yes, she’s far too talented for her age. It’s annoying.

What kind of ukulele is she using? A soprano, concert (alto), or tenor? I’m looking to buy one, and I want to be able to use it often! Any help would be greatly appreciated:) thanks

  23. Woodshed April 9th, 2012 10:51 am
