Jingle Bell Rock (Tab)

Jingle Bell Rock (Tab)

One of the many, many, many things I love about Christmas is that you can unselfconsciously use as many jazzy chords as you like. So I take every chance I get in this arrangement to use the devil’s interval and bust out my favourite turnaround chord of all time: the +5. There’s the G+5 (0332 and 0576) for most of the turnarounds and a C7+5 (3443) to introduce the key change in the “…” section.

This arrangement uses mostly strums. Generally, wherever all strings are notated you’re strumming and otherwise you’re picking.

You do great!! Sometimes you Rock, sometimes you don’t, but when you’re playing allways is a good stuff.
    Thanks, Al

Amazing. I have been trying to learn this for about a week now. I can not seem to figure out how to play measures 14-15 and measures 26-27 correctly. I cannot seem to get the strumming correctly, any hints?

I have a question, and it’s been burning up my mind for quite sometime and I have no idea why I didn’t ask here before hand!
Is there a difference between plastic or metal strings? When I see you playing on a metal strung uku, it seems to sound rather different than when I want to play it on Aquila plastic strings (what the uku came with)
I’d like to know if it has something to do with that, or if maybe I’m not playing it right. For instance in this song, I can’t get it to quite sound right, I don’t think. It’s a bit deeper and more of a droning sound than what seems to come from your playing or others. Any tips?

  19. Woodshed May 22nd, 2012 10:16 am

Olive: I always have plastic strings on my ukuleles. It might be that I’m using a tenor ukulele here. It’s going to sound different on a soprano.

    Woodshed:

On the PDF could you write the chords above the Tab so that us novices can play along. e.g. c Cmaj7 C6. Also, if you can suggest a strum pattern. A lot of us are not that advanced yet.
