I keep getting emails from the London Uke fest about name changes and what have you, I believe now it’s not even a ukulele festival it’s “All Instruments Wahey Fest” which sounds even more dumb than “UkeyLove”. And LeFiul keep stalking me so I’m kinda scared of them.
    Don’t forget about Ukuhooley 2011 either :P

  2. TTT February 16th, 2011 6:46 pm

  4. Skwidspawn February 16th, 2011 8:15 pm

Bummer! I had no idea there was a festival in Oregon, and all the workshops are sold out already! Bah!

And I really don’t have more info about but this is true and soon I will know all about

  6. LeFIUL February 17th, 2011 8:54 am

@Jimmy: What do you mean by “LeFiul keep stalking me so I’m kinda scared of them”? Do you consider sending out invitations & weekly newsletters or requesting information to each attending ukulelist in order to publish it on our website as “stalking”? To us it’s “caring”. Moreover if you’re “frustrationhole” on YouTube you’re not in our contact database so how can we “stalk” you? And if for some reason you are in our database under another name, it’s because you agreed to it!

  7. karl February 17th, 2011 9:47 am

I heard it through the grapevine that there will be a third Belgian festival at the end of May. Remco and Fred will know all about it.

  8. Woodshed February 17th, 2011 10:43 am

Jimmy: I’m going to stick to calling it the London Uke Fest in the hopes they’ll come to their senses.

TTT: Thanks for the info. I’ve added it to the post.

    Skwidspawn: Bugger!

George: Thanks, I’ve added it to the post.

LeFIUL: I wouldn’t have said ‘stalking’ but one email a week is more than I would expect from a festival. Also you need to add an unsubscribe link to your emails – it’s the law.

karl: Thanks for the info. I’ll see what I can find out.

  13. Woodshed February 20th, 2011 11:40 am

  26. Maryann January 26th, 2012 7:09 pm

What’s coming up in Europe 2012?

  27. FIUL January 26th, 2012 8:01 pm

    Hello Maryann,

We’re throwing the FIUL 2, June 22-24 in Lerrain, France. Lerrain is a small village of about 500 souls, located in the Vosges region (north-eastern France), famous for its stunning natural environment (mountains, pine forests, lakes and valleys) as well as its picturesque villages (churches, abbeys, castles)… the perfect place for this French ukulele Woodstock!

Last year we welcomed a little more than 40 ukulele players from around the world (USA, UK, Scotland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and of course France) to play on the open mic stage and jam together. We also recorded a 16 track CD. The FIUL is a fully free event, sponsored by ukulele brands such as Mainland Ukes (Indiana-USA), Kamoa Ukes (Hawaii-USA), MahiMahi Ukes (Italy), Aquila Strings (Italy), Savarez Strings (France), musical instrument stores, councils and local businesses. The event was a real success with a crowd of about 3000 people attending during the week-end and we got an unexpected media coverage with reports on both national and regional TV channels and newspapers. Check out our website, http://www.fiul.fr, for more info (pictures, videos, mp3s, etc).

We hope to see you there! If you want to register, drop us a mail on festival.ukulele@gmail.com.

    Cheers.
