UkeToob Takeover

When I announced I was switching to posting one-week-on, one-week-off the main reaction was, “yeah, but you’re still going to do the UkeTube every week, right?” No, I’m not.

But I am going to do something better.

When Donnie announced that he was going to bring UkeToob.com to an end I immediately begged him to let me take it on. And he was kind enough to let me.

So from now on I’ll be posting videos I like on there. There’s a rating underneath each video so if you see one you like rate it and that’ll improve its chances of making the Uke Hunt round-up.

I’ve also got a few ideas for other types of posts. So far there’s a videography of James Hill and a top 5 ukulele videos uploaded to YouTube this month.

It’s going to be a while before it settles in so let me know what you like, what you dislike, and what you’d like to see.

You can subscribe by RSS or by email using the links at the top of the page on UkeToob.

Great news! I had just taken the link off my favorites bar. Now it will return to it’s rightful place.

So here we are thinking “Poor Al, he’s so tired, he needs to take a break” and such, when in fact you’re just off planning a (decidedly non-hostile and rather welcomed) takeover and merger. Pretty sneaky mister!

Love the UKE TOOB takeover idea! I interviewed Joy Ike on our radio show. She is a phenomenal artist and an even cooler person. I love that she is playing uke. It really suits her voice and style!

Hey, this is cool, Al. Congratulations and best of luck with this new endeavor. Been using your “downtime” to work our way through “Ukulele for Dummies”. Lots of great stuff in there! In case you can’t tell, we’re definitely fans and can’t wait to see what you’ll be doing next. So glad to see that you’re not really going away!

Woot! Uketoob’s back! This is great news. Pretty big shoes to fill, but you have a pretty big set of feet. Will you be bringing the video podcast part back as well? That was my main source of uke vids for a while.

This is sweet, kinda made me want to start recording again :D

Thanks very much, folks. I’m very glad the move has met with approval.

Ben: Sorry, no plans for the video podcast as well I’m afraid.
