My Brightest Diamond, Keston Cobblers’ Club: UkeTube

Keston Cobblers’ Club are releasing their record three tracks at a time. The excellent first part is already out and the uke-heavy Pett Level suggests the second part is going to be just as good.

Also up this week a collab between Eddie Vedder and Beck, My Brightest Diamond, a Halloween-appropriate tune from Holland Greco, a slice of IZ in his band days and plenty more besides.

Al, for anyone interested in learning a bit more about Hawaiian music and its story, Brigham Young Univ. over there has a series of videos that do a nice job.

    Starting with

Music 102 ONLINE Module 4-1-1 Hawaii
    byuhonline

which introduces pre-contact music/dance, the series continues with three more in the 4-1-
    series.

Then four in the 4-2- series and finally finishing with four in the 4-3- series. The last four deal with contemporary music.

Videos range from about 10 to twenty minutes.

Yay! Tiny Tim Overdrive is my favourite band!!

Oh wait… I’m not in that video, but I am in the band. Ahem. Thanks for the feature Al, it’s always a thrill to be featured along side all these other fabulous musicians.

Had a nice week off? The People demand posts! Plenty and often! Or this blog will be occupied.

Alec: I’m doing one week on/one week off at the moment. I’m prepared to break out the tear gas and rubber bullets on anyone who has a problem with that!

We know your selfish plan. Withhold product, increase demand, and artifically raise prices and your profits. Well, I ain’t paying one penny more than I have been.

How about posting the chords for Pett Level? Love the Keston Cobblers’ Club. Just discovered them.

    Jerry: It’s definitely a possibility.
