The Staves, David’s Lyre: UkeTube

I don’t usually put up album cover videos but I had to make an exception for the uke track on David’s Lyre’s new album. You can get it on Bandcamp on a ‘pay what you like’ basis. It’s well worth throwing in a few quid – it’s an excellent album.

Also up folkiness from The Staves, hula dancing with Da Ukulele Boyz, some Bach from Richard Durrant and more besides.

    daisy: I do love that song so I might well. I think he’s tuned down a step to F Bb D G. Hope that helps.

    Peter: I think he would have liked more campanella but I’m sure he’d have enjoyed it.

    Yukon: Not sure. My guess is that it was custom made for him.

    Unrelated to any of today’s cool videos I would just like to thank you for including strum patterns with your chords occasionally. Tons of chords online hardly any strumming help for a newb like me.

    Mander Mae: You’re welcome! I’m glad you find them useful. I’m never sure how much detail to go into. And some songs just get too complicated.

    Be still (stop frame) my heart! Little plastic figure was really cute! David’s Lyre is new to me, but a nice surprise…
    And, I think The Staves tune might have just made it’s way into my road trip playlist.

    Hate to be obnoxious, but is there anyway you could come up with a tab for Sleeping At Last’s “Porcelain”. It would be gladly appreciated! But, otherwise, love the site! It has really helped me learn the uke.

    Richard Durrant’s uke looks sort of like a Kala Archtop that’s been sanded down and refinished. Looks waaay better than the sunburst finish.
