Movie Theme Tune Quiz

I decided to nick IanReentrant’s idea of a ukulele film theme quiz.

Listen to each of the clips below (you might need to head over to the blog if you’re reading via email or RSS) and name the film it’s from (each is either the theme of a film or a tune from a film). If you need help with any of them, they’re all tunes that I’ve tabbed on the blog.

After you’re done check the answers here. Then come back here and show off your score in the comments. And let me know if you’d be interested in a similar post with TV themes.

    i got 6 (1,2,3,5,6,8), but recognised 4 even though i’ve never seen it.

    Amy: Six seems pretty good to me. I think that’s what I’d have got if I hadn’t done it myself.

    Didn’t get 5 or 10. Still none the wiser with 10,even after seeing the answers.

    I missed 7 and 10. I like these mysterious tidbits of uke picking. it makes me appreciate the arrangements since there’s no pre-judging before clicking on ‘play.’

    TV Themes could be fun.

    I got 7 (missed 1,9 and 10), and number 6 will probably be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Thanks a lot ^^

    7/10 – I’m not a Harry Potter fan and not overboard on ‘Pirates’ (geddit?)Haven’t even heard of ‘Once’!Great fun and I’m off to learn new songs now, please do more!

    Hey, thanks for that, good fun, good timing as first day of my holidays!
    Only managed 5/10 but good to hear the pirates clip as currently practising that, only much slower…but getting there..

    Got the first 5 and thought “this is too easy” then only got 1 more after that. I blame being in the office with the volume pretty low at lunch time. :-)
    Another YES vote for TV themes.

    7/10!! Not bad. Disappointed I didn’t get Halloween, Once was handy as I’m Irish, fun little quiz. Tv Themes would be fun too.

    8/10. i missed “Halloween” and “Once” themes, i dont feel too bad as i’ve never seen either of them before. Now onto learning MOST OF THEM!

    Missed 5 and 10. No surprise: I only read the books and I never ever heard of (checking the answer-page-again) Once. Loved the challenge.

    I am looser, I have got only 2/10. I got ‘Once’ because Marketa Irglova comes from the Czech Republic. 6 is great, tonight I will learn it.
