Serial Podcast Theme (Tab)

Nick Thorburn – Serial Theme (Tab)

I had to do this tab to celebrate the finale of the first series of Serial. The plinkiness of it was just dying to be uked. To keep it extra-plinky it’s played right up the neck.

While I’m on podcast themes, here’s my favourite. The twee as fuck theme tune to Jordan, Jesse, Go! by The Free Design.

Great, just as I downloaded the final episode to listen to.
    Cheers and Merry Christmas.

John: Hope you enjoy it. It’s a great episode.

Cool! Thanks… Do you listen to Slate’s podcasts (there’s even a podcast about Serial!)? They all have little themes and they’d be a great little medley strung together. Probably get you a shout out on one of them too.

Alec: I sometimes listen to their Political Gabfest. I skipped their Serial podcast though. A podcast about a podcast was a bit too meta for me!

Their culture gabfest and lexicon valley are worth listening to too. Thanks again for this; can annoy the family over christmas.

This is perfect to fix my Serial withdrawal symptoms

Dave: Thanks! Glad I could help. The crazy interviews in The Intercept have got me by.

That’s a new one for me, I stuck in Baltimore and finally started The Wire.

This is brilliant! (Though I’d expect nothing less).

Thanks a lot for sharing the video and tabs! I’m a beginner player and with following your tab and watching you play I could play it now! I just have a problem with the nines on the C string, especially in this bit:
    12–12–12–12
    —————–
    9—-9—-9—-9
    —————–
I just can’t get this part to sound right. I have a soprano with only 12 frets, could this be why? Is there a way to work around it?

Sam: Does it sound out of tune? Some ukes can go out of tune up the neck. Particularly the cheap ones.
