The James Bond theme tune played on Mini uke and noseflute….now thats not something you hear every day! It sounded surprisingly good too.
I thought the Randy Newman cover was especially good this week and I also really enjoyed the Biscuithead and the biscuit badgers ditty. Very entertaining.
And you’re right, a serious bunch of weirdos this week, but whats new?! :)
    Cheers -F

The Biscuithead song sounds fun hahaha

  3. Skwidspawn June 11th, 2011 8:00 pm

Really enjoyed the Chick Corea piece. I played “Spain” over a decade ago on the Alto Sax, that technically section was really tough!

Blue Dean Carcione’s performance was spot on.

  4. Greenway June 11th, 2011 10:13 pm

I love the rendition of Tighten up.

  5. sanford(andsong) June 11th, 2011 11:15 pm

Many great vocals this week. Blue Dean, Liz Wood…and i’d give any finger from either hand to have The Hobbit’s voice…

  6. Phredd June 12th, 2011 12:12 am

Everything sounds great but Will’s James Bond Theme is over the moon!

  7. Howlin' Hobbit June 12th, 2011 6:32 am

Love, love, love Walter Sickert and The Army Of Broken Toys! I think it was Amanda Palmer who turned me on to them a while back.

Will Grove-White. What can I say? Except that I really wants me one of them tiny fellas. My birthday’s only a few days away, maybe the birthday fairy will bring me one.

    Ha!

Someone tweeted about the Biscuithead vid and I’d already watched it a couple of times before I popped open UkeTube. Glad to see Uke Hunt doing its part to make the video go bacterial. I love that style. And tuba, of course.

Thanks, Woodshed, for plugging the contest. I’d love to have that little bit of fluff on my resumé but I fear that Carly is going to take the prize. I’d be all upset about it if she weren’t so damned talented. She’s a nice person too. And what a set of pipes!

sandford(andsong): Keep the fingers man. You can have a voice like mine by smoking cigarettes and things and drinking whiskey. At least, it’s worked for me.

  8. Herman June 12th, 2011 9:26 am

nice stuff! The Seaweed Under the Sofa gave me the most pleasure!

  9. Alexandre June 12th, 2011 10:37 am

I really like Travis Stine & Dane Lum Ho. They’re brilliant! And I’m a fan of Liz Wood voice.I won’t say a word on everyone but it’s a great selection this week! Thanks Woodshed ; )

Thanks uke hunt! Super delighted to be connected on the twitter now. Been using your site to help teach collab songs for ages, in fact when i started teaching myself uke i think you were one of the first sites i used back in the day…

i’m glad to continue the bosto-vaudeville ukulele expansion. more ukes in big bands! Uke can do it, etc. etc.

A very grateful hopping weirdo. My name it is (sometimes) Sam Hall… xojojo

  11. Rob NY June 13th, 2011 12:02 am

    Good stuff!

  12. Dino Divo June 13th, 2011 11:00 am

I’m such a fan of Liz Wood! She rocks in on so many levels.

Walter Sickert and crew do a great gypsy version of Sam Hall but if you ‘d like to see me (alias Dina Diva) doing it Johnny Cash style it’s at

B&BB’s song is great and the clip is fantastic! Flaming Tubas, Batman!

Thanks again Al for a great collection!

    cheers
ps There was a song in the last Uketube list (or was it the one before?) by a band called Oh Death which is also the title of a great song I’ve done a version of (again as Dina Diva) here

    Foinnse: Glad you enjoyed them.

    Tony: It is!

Skwidspawn: Definitely some chops on display in that video.

Greenway: Agreed! Just a shame about the mic.

sanford(andsong): I’d be willing to give my right-hand finger. Perhaps not the left.

Phredd: There’s something wrong with that guy!

Howlin’ Hobbit: A pleasure as always. Good luck with the contest.

    Herman: Glad you liked!

    Alexandre: Thanks!

jojo brokedy-kele toy: A pleasure to feature you and to connect with you.

    Rob: I thought so!

    Dino: Nice promotion!

OMG – THANK YOU for posting the Walter Sickert & the Army of Broken TOys vid – they are SO MUCH FUN. The music is brilliant and their little uke player is so nice and cute and pocket sized. And unlike other bands who claim to have uke, but make them a side line… she is actually a huge part of the band – I was at this show and it was awesome! There is even a song where the UKE is the LEAD!!!! (I’m a clost Uke player so it made me excited)

enjoying the other videos too! thanks!!!

  15. Sleater June 13th, 2011 2:08 pm

HERE IT IS! http://armyoftoys.bandcamp.com/track/pornival couldn’t find a video of it but I <3 this UKE song!

  16. Tony June 13th, 2011 8:18 pm

If you go on the biscuithead website, they have free sheet music of their song, which is simply (Eb, D7, Fm, Bb7, Dbma7, E7, G7, Cm, A and G). Its a fun little ditty to play

jojo brokedy-kele toy: Thanks I’ll definitely be featuring one of those in next week’s round up.
