I’ve been away from decent Internet all week, so please do enlighten me and everyone else with any (non-Vedder) links you’ve seen this week.

    Aw, ccm’on, Al…we need MORE posts about The Vedder. Now that it’s cool to play ukulele. And more about that ‘Jake’ guy while you’re at it.

    I’m definitely a fan of figuring things out by ear. It’s particularly handy since there are so few tabs out there for so much on the uke.

    Well, there is one more. Was just over at Amazon and noticed they’re taking pre-orders for “Ukulele Songs for Dummies.” People should not confuse this and Al’s “Ukulele for Dummies.”

    Both are being offered together as a pre-order for $31.95.

    Lila Burns album/demo is defintely worth a listen, some great songs there. I will defintely buy next week I think.

    @Josh That’s YOUR prerogative, and you’re welcome to ‘not mind’ it all you want. But not everyone feels that way. and, for the record, I like his CD.

    Craig: Apologies if I came off aggressive. I’m going to his concert tonight in Chicago and I guess I’m feeling self-conscious that I paid $90 a ticket…

    @Josh. Cool. Enjoy the concert. He just played in Boston. I guess I feel the whole ‘rock star’ thing is a bit off-putting. ($90????!!! ouch!) But he makes good music, and that’s okay by me.

    It damn well better be good. I noticed a setlist for one of the first concerts of his tour, and it didn’t include Longing to Belong OR Satellite, two out of the three best songs on the album. If he doesn’t play those AND a uke version of All the Way (his incredible Cubbies tribute) I’m going to demand my money back. And shoot someone. I’m now debating bringing my uke to see if I can ambush him backstage and get him to sign it.

    @Josh I heard he does the first half hour on ukulele and then switches to the band…but I wasn’t at the show. I would indeed take the ukulele and get him to sign it.
