The Muppet Show Theme (Tab)

Jim Henson and Sam Pottle – The Muppet Show Theme

Like the Dad’s Army Theme, the Muppet Show Theme was co-written by one of the show’s creators. But unlike the Dad’s Army Theme it wasn’t so well served by a modern cover.

This arrangement includes one of my favourite tricks: playing the bassline. The notes on the C-string in bars 9-16 are the bass notes. Then the melody notes are played on the E and A strings. It takes a bit of work to get the two going together but it’s really effective.

“It’s time to put on make-up….” Sorry, just retreated to my childhood. I am pretty sure I will struggle to play this but maybe I will just have to give it a go :)

This is great, love it, thank you! Old favourite from childhood long ago….perfect as ive Just put Aquila strings on my lag soprano and can’t believe the difference. Even the muted strings sound better!

Thank you! Newbie player here who can finally play your Rainbow Connection tab without making people’s ears bleed. It’s far from perfect, but its recognizable and fairly smooth. I just came on here to find a new song to master, and I think this is the perfect follow up to Rainbow Connection. Thank you so much for these tabs! They’re fantastic!!

I’m at my grandmas and bought some aquila strings, but I don’t have my ukulele with me.. I’m looking forward to learning some more advanced stuff when I get back. (e.g. Dueling Banjos, Video games [lana del ray] and of course this).

Woodshed, is there any chance you could make an arrangement of Feel Good Inc. by the Gorillaz ? :)

How many times do I practice bars 18 & 19 before I admit defeat?

  17. Woodshed July 13th, 2014 7:23 am

tooney: You could try it without the chordy bits. Like this:

    MuppetTheme

Thanks, Woodshed. I’ll give it a try. Although the chordy bits do sound great. Sometimes it feels like trying to play with hot dogs for fingers.

tooney: I feel like that all the time!

ha ha ha Maybe I should lose the buns, then.

I am determined to master those chordy bits. CHORDY BITS!

    tooney: Hahaha! Happy practicing.
