I think Howard Jacobson just put me off reading for life. And if
Beethoven had walked in, someone would have had to write on his tablet to let him know what was being played.
As he had a sense of humor, my guess is he would have filled the hall with roaring belly laughs & then taken over conducting, himself.
For some reason or other, I always assumed the Ukes would play the Last Night of the Proms concert. I can see George, especially, leading the crowd into, “And did these feet, In ancient time…”
