David Bowie – Ziggy Stardust (Intro Tab)

david bowie ukulele tab

MP3

This one brings back memories. My first band consisted mainly of me (a sullen Yorkshire boy who just wanted to play guitar) and the singer (a great big show-off, drama queen). So we did a lot of Mick Ronson era David Bowie covers. This one being a particular favourite.

Anyhoo, compare to that last two, this one is dead simple.

Working now, may have something to do with me not being on my laptop.
Also, could you do a blog post on how you get your ukulele chords/tabs? Transposing etc?

  13. Woodshed August 30th, 2011 11:21 pm

Liam: Most of them are done by ear and messing around.

Great job again, Woodshed- thanks a lot, any chance of seeing the chords for the rest of the song anytime soon?

Just picked up the uke last month and learning lots – thanks for the great resources that you’ve put up here! I would love to get this Bowie intro down, but as I find D chord a little trickier than most (my fingers have to get super squashed to fit in there), the quicker transition to D(sus4) and then back again feels really tough.

Any tips on finger positioning to make it… lesser harder? =)

  16. Woodshed December 21st, 2011 1:14 pm

Mike: I usually play D with my index finger covering the g and C strings and my middle on the E. Then add my ring finger for the Dsus4.
